PAINT, GLAZE & FIRE

A History of Pottery Painting in Kansas City!

What We Are

Paint Glaze & Fire is a one-of-a kind, colorful mug to give a friend or family member, a custom painting to hang above your couch, a fun and cute clay good luck charm – you can make them all, and more, right here with us! Paint Glaze & Fire is a friendly paint-your-own-pottery space where people of all ages can have fun, make art, and flex their creative muscles. At our heat-proof, boredom-proof studio, you’re the artist. There are no rules – let your imagination soar as you create a personalized, perfect piece or painting. We host birthday parties and lead private and group classes for painting, glass fusion, and clay, too. You can even bring the fun home with you by picking up our pottery-to-go or paint-at-home kits. Whether you’re near or far, in our space or at your dining room table, our projects will always leave you with new decorations and memories to spare.

Who We Are

Paint, Glaze & Fire is a unique Kansas City based ceramic pottery painting studio and coffee house in Overland Park that welcomes those who are interested in trying their hands at any one of a number of art projects. We were established in 1997 as the first paint your own pottery studio in the greater Kansas City area and we’re a great location for hosting your next pottery painting party or as a great indoor artwork option for your summer camp. You can also walk-in any time to paint pottery, create a glass fusion art project, paint a canvas, or create with raw clay (raw clay beginner artists are encouraged to take our class). We’re family-friendly and ready to teach what we’ve learned about arts and crafts over our many years.

Our History

Paint Glaze & Fire owner Susan has had a passion for art since she could hold a pen. Owning a pottery studio was always a dream, and serendipity struck soon after moving from Alaska to Kansas City.  She took a part-time job at PGF, and when founder Debbie Wright decided to move to Philadelphia to be closer to family, she didn’t need to look far to find who to carry on the legacy. For six years and counting, Susan has continued the PG&F tradition of painting, creativity, and community in a family atmosphere.

The Paint, Glaze & Fire Ceramics & Coffee House family wants to share our passion and enjoyment with you and your family, group, or party. Our studio and coffee house is always warm and welcoming. Our fun and creative art projects are easy enough for nearly all ages to enjoy.
